Comments:
  • Email asks you to confirm/update/verify your account data at Bank of Scotland by visiting the given link. You will be taken to a spoof website where your details will be captured for the phishers.

  • Bank of Scotland never send their users emails requesting personal details in this way.

  • The REAL URL of the spoof website is disguised as "http://www.bankofscotlandbusiness. co.uk.session937/ibfom/ hobsinternet/en/index.jsp?id=7068323583867784 8814488180620552824226768560571 79704548624410059597485987833".

  • The spoof website this email links to was not online at time of this report, but variations of the scam which link to working websites are bound to exist, so be wary! The website may have been taken down or disabled by the hosts, but quite often these websites are hosted on the personal computer of the phishers, so may only be online at certain times.

  • The REAL URL of the spoof website has been chosen to look very similar to the actual Bank of Scotland URL. Do not be fooled!

Dear Bank of Scotland customer,

You have received this alerting message, as you are listed to be an Bank of Scotland Business Banking user.

We would like to inform you that we are currently carrying out scheduled maintenance of banking software, that operates customer database for Bank of Scotland Business Banking users. Customer database is based on a client-server protocol, so, in order to finish the update procedure, we need customer direct participation. Every Bank of Scotland Business Banking customer has to complete a Business Banking Form. In order to access the form, please use the link below. The link is unique for each account holder and expires within a certain period of time. If you don't fill in Business Banking Form before your unique link expires, the system will automatically send you a new notification message.
