A phoney request to update your Paypal account
leads to a bogus web form which captures your email address and password...
This
spoof Paypal email (see image below) gives you until the 31st March to use the
link provided to update your Paypal account or face suspension.
The email contains a link which will open a bogus Paypal web
form which simply requests your email address and password. This is processed
through PHP script, but discerning users should notice that the URL of the bogus
page in no way matches any genuine Paypal web page.
If you have received this email, please remember that it is very
common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly
different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different
provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common
place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first,
although not necessarily from the same apparent sender.
