SafeHarbor Pre-Suspension email
implies a suspended account to urge users to use the link to enter a forged eBay
web page, but its a spoof...
This
spoof eBay email (see image below) is in HTML format (although it does look
like a text only email in order add a sense of authenticity to the link text).
The link in the email has been disguised using HTML code to look like a genuine
link to eBay and will actually lead you to a forged eBay web form.
The bogus web page is located at http://www.secure-login-online.tk/
which is registered to an individual in the USA. Any data submitted into this
forged eBay form is forwarded to the perpetrators via a third party Perl Script
at cutandpastescripts.com
Reports of this spoof email continue, the latest being the 1st
April 2004, and the bogus web page is still available.
If you have received this email, please remember that it is very
common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly
different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different
provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common
place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first,
although not necessarily from the same apparent sender. The Spoof Email ...
