Our main concern with this spoofed eBay email is the use of a
similar looking domain name in the URL fo the forged sign in page that the email
links to. With that and the crafted link in the email which appears to direct
you to a valid eBay page, we have given this scam a High risk level.
The domain cgi3-ebay-com-aw-cgi-ebayisapi-dll-secureconfirmation-bpuser.tk
is an exceptionally long domain name specially constructed to fool email
recipients that they are at a genuine eBay sign in page, the undiscerning user,
may well not notice the seemingly slight differences.
The forged sign in page is further scripted and coded to utilise
frames to deliver this very convincing eBay sign in page while capturing any
data that is entered. If you have received this email, please remember that it is very
common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly
different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different
provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common
place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first,
