WARNINGS

1. URL links to rodeal.com site but local script changes title bar URL to spoof an eBay URL
2. eBay do not send forms like this via email

" Dear customer, We regret to inform you that your eBay account will be suspended due to the violation of our site policy below: "...

This spoof eBay email is in HTML format (although it does look like a text only email in order add a sense of authenticity to the link text). The link in the email has been disguised using HTML code to look like a genuine link to eBay and it has been further coded to exploit the URL Spoofing bug in Internet Explorer browsers (test your browser - see link on right). Using that link will forward the browser URL to http://rodeal.com/ebay/signin.html and then a script will change the browser URL to an eBay URL. Information typed on this page will be captured.

The rodeal.com site appears to be a large-scale fishing site (note the fake hotmail login page on the root URL rodeal.com). If you have received this email, please remember that it is very common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first, although not necessarily from the same apparent sender.
