eBay Official Notice email scam and bogus web site
9th to 16th October 2003
This eBay hoax email scam was in distribution from 9th to 16th October 2003 and we an image of the hoax email. These are just images of the originals, so there is absolutely no code included and the links or buttons will not work. The images shown have been reduced to 80% of the original size.
The email hoax...
The email scam purports to be from eBay and states that some accounts have been lost due to fraudulent activity. There is a link provided for you to update your eBay account information (this link is disguised and points to a bogus eBay web page. Unfortunately the bogus web page was closed when we looked into this scam, so we do not have an image of it to show here.
