WARNINGS

1. A lottery variant of the 419 style of scam. Correspondance will simply result in requests for 'administration fees' to cover various costs, but you'll never actually get any money back!

2. UK Lottery sounds like a real national lottery, but this is purely a scam and has nothing to do with the real National Lottery.

3. Notice that the sender uses a free, web based email address. A real company would almost certainly use their own.

4. Scam is bold enough to request funds straight away for people outside the UK for 'administration'. In this way targeting the people most at risk at falling prey to the scam.

" We are pleased to inform you of the announcement today,14th October 2004, of winners of THE UK NATIONAL LOTTERY; UNITED KINGDOM / PROGRAMS HELD ON 10TH OF OCTOBER, 2004. "...

If you have received this email, please remember that it is very common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first, although not necessarily from the same apparent sender.
