WARNINGS

1. Somewhere between gloriously surreal and downright bizzare, this is one of the strangest scams I have ever seen! Although outwardly just another variant on the 419/Lottery style of email scam, there are some notable additions to the normal approach, including a fully functioning website for the 'Mother Teresa International Games'. As if the name alone wasn't funny enough, the website goes on to detail the organisations new 'computer room', which is clearly a shot from inside somewhere like NASA in the 1970's! The website is also littered with bad spellings, inaccuracies and contradictions, hardly the mark of a professional organisation.

2. A lottery variant of the 419 style of scam. Correspondance will simply result in requests for 'administration fees' to cover various costs, but you'll never actually get any money back!

3. ' Mother Theresa International Games ' very likely do not even exist and are just a fake company name used by the scammers. This name has been used a lot in these sort of scams, so is an easy one to spot.

4. Notice that the sender uses a free, web based email address. A real company would almost certainly use their own.

5. Spoof website traced to a server in Hong Kong

"Dear Sir/Madam, We are pleased to inform you of the result of our computer random selection for Mother theresa
international games with the El Gordo lottery held November, 13 2004"
...

If you have received this email, please remember that it is very common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly different content or the same but with the fake page(s) hosted by a different provider. Also, once you have received one of these hoaxes, it is also common place to receive at least another one and usually a day or two after the first, although not necessarily from the same apparent sender.
