Id say that it has to do with the size of the fonts
and menu systems being most easily read by the largest
demographic
of people. Sure if i upped my mums iPhone 5 to the
iPhone 6 resolution she would get more content on the
small screen
but it would not be as easily consumed as it is now.
But the implementation of choosing small/big on iphone
6 could and
should of been utilised on earlier iphones
